This month it was great to be involved in one of our biggest projects to date. ‘Crossed Paths’ featuring rapper Pa Salieu and drummer Morgan Simpson was released on The Face Magazine platforms. The film, in collaboration with Burberry, brings together two established musicians from differing worlds. You can read the article here where Simpson and Salieu discuss their childhoods, and the influences that have shaped, inspired and informed their music to date. Pa Salieu is one of the most in-demand UK rappers at the moment and we predict big things from him in the future. His energy in the film is unmatched. Be sure to check out his track used in this film, ‘Betty’ (official video directed by Rollo Jackson), as well as ‘Year Of The Real’, one of our favourites of the year so far. We loved teaming up with Somesuch again (the film is directed by Duncan Loudon - you can check out his other work here) and especially loved the shout out by Burberry creative director Riccardo Tisci. Since this film went live, the brand have continued to promote their new Thomas Burberry Summer Monogram print with events across the world involving hot air balloons, sail boats and the desert!

An ad that caught our eye this month was Nike’s ‘Tell Us Never’ campaign about Liverpool football club and their unique scouser followers. Directed by Glenn Kitson from The Rig Out with creative from Weiden + Kennedy London, the ad shows the passion of the fans and the true character of the city. It’s great to see Nike focusing on another city other than London and showcasing the city’s culture, charm and wit. The tone of the creative really works. The ad is soundtracked by Slowthai’s ‘Doorman’ which drives the visuals and keeps the laddy energy going throughout. It wouldn’t have been our choice of track, a more local band being more preferable (Slowthai is from Northampton) but apparently he supports Liverpool so there is a connection there.

After the boredom of lockdown, it’s been great to be so busy this week working with some familiar faces and some new contacts who have reached out. We’re always looking to collaborate with new people so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need help sourcing music + sound for moving image.
